It’s the year 2012, and you’ve decided to upgrade to some new wrist machinery. You’ve read the blogs and checked out your options, so now what. Well, the now what for us has to be the 51-30 from Nixon. The new Rubber 51-30 to be precise.
There is a reason that this series has taken over the world. Best selling, immaculately turned out and with miles of style. You simply can’t go wrong with a 51-3o. So what’s so special about the Rubber version? It’s not only the awesome look of the thing, but something you need to feel. The softest silicone you can imagine. Feels like baby seal on the skin, and will have you wearing your watch no matter the weather conditions!
The crystal has been upgraded with new anti-glare tech and is still the hardened mineral crystal you might know from previous installments. That new anti-glare has a slight blueish look to it, and in our humble opinion adds to the overall look of this masterpiece of time & motion.
What’s in a name? Well the diameter of this guy sits at around 51mm, and the watch is rated to 30ATM, which is watch speak for 300m. Voila and hey presto! 51-30. This one features the tide function which is super easy to set, and shows the tide range on the small sub-dial. We suggest one of the White or Black / Gold if you’re not sporting 20/20 eye sight, as the “cool” understated colours will take some squinting to see properly. Hey, watches are supposed to be passed from generation to generation, so keep it mint for when you can’t see anymore, and pass it to little Johnny or Susie when the time comes!
